About LibraryMantra and LibraryMantra Membership
LibraryMantra™ is an online subscription based rental service that allows its members to rent books through its website located at http://www.LibraryMantra.com. To use LibraryMantra™, one will have to register with LibraryMantra.com™ to create an account and become its member. A member can then browse/search books he/she would like to read, add them to his/her Wishlist, and make Book Request. Once payment has been received or we have made an arrangement with the member to pick up the payment at the time of delivery, the first set of books will be delivered to the member at the shipping address provided at the time of registration. The number of books delivered at a time by LibraryMantra™ is as per his/her membership plan. Once a member is done with the first set of books, he/she goes to www.LibraryMantra.com and navigates to “Wishlist” or Book Details page and click on “Request Book” button. LibraryMantra™ will pick up the previous set of books from the members shipping address, and deliver the next set of books (for “Book Request”), within 24 working hours. The books shipped will be governed by the availability of the book in LibraryMantra’s inventory.
We endeavor to deliver the books requested; however when availability is limited, we may request you for alternative books choice. ‘Request Book’ button on Book Detail pages will be visible only when the Book is available; same with books listed under wishlist. Books which are not available (as other members are reading currently), they will either appear as ‘In-Circulation’ or ‘Out of Stock’. System will not let you request the book. Please keep checking your wishlist / book detail pages for availability status of the book.
Book Allocation and Delivery:
We reserve the right to allocate and deliver books among our members in any manner that we, in our sole and absolute discretion, determine. In addition, we will, in our sole and absolute discretion, determine the quantity of books we purchase for any particular title and the level of staffing and number of deliveries to be processed at each distribution centre. As a result, we may not always send you the books you chosen, and we may not ship out your next book(s) on the same day that we receive one from you. At present, our goal is to deliver you the book(s) request by you on at our earliest. Often, on the same day that we receive a book(s) from you, we will deliver the next available book(s) from your book request. In certain instances, your next available book(s) will not be delivered until at least one business day following our receipt of your returned book(s).
Return of Rented Books:
LibraryMantra™ reserves the right to request return of any and all book(s) in the possession of Members at any time. Members understand and agree to promptly return any book(s) to LibraryMantra™ upon request, and that failure to do so within five days of the request makes Members liable for the cost of those book(s) plus 50% of that cost as a handling charge, for which LibraryMantra™ reserves the right to charge the Member’s refundable security deposit.
No due dates or late fees:
Provided you continue to be a paying member of our service, you may keep the book(s) delivered to you as long as you like. You will be required to return the books within 5 days following any cancellation of the service or be subject to charge for ureturned book(s). Also, you may be charged for book(s) that you lose or damage. In the event that the number of lost book(s) on your account becomes excessive, as we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will notify you that your account has been placed on hold for review and may charge your Payment Method for the estimated cost of the lost book(s). We will alert you of any potential charges prior to charging your Payment Method.
If deliveries of books failed due to non-availability of member at delivery address or any other reason at member’s end, LibraryMantra may charge Rs.50 or any other amount decided by LibraryMantra from time to time, for repeat delivery. This clause is to avoid misuse of delivery service and to bring awareness about the efforts and costs taken by LibraryMantra.
Upon becoming a LibraryMantra™ member, members become responsible for paying periodic subscription fees according to the then current billing terms and subscription plan. Subscription fees are non-refundable.
Subscription fees are automatically renewed, and therefore the member is liable to pay the monthly subscription fees in a timely manner.
Changes In Membership Plans:
A member may change plans at any time but not more than once in a month. Upgrades in plans will only result in billing the difference of the plans. Downgrades in plans will affect the next billing cycle. No refunds for partial months of use will be credited. Future billing cycles will be billed at the new rate.
You may cancel your subscription to LibraryMantra™ at any time, and cancellation will be effective immediately. WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR ANY PARTIAL-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION PERIODS OR UNREAD BOOK(S). To cancel your membership you need to call on our customer care numbers on +91-020-24218822 or +91-9881712983 and request the same to our customer care executive. Upon cancellation, you will be given 5 days to return any outstanding rentals / books in your possession. Failure to return such rentals will result in your Payment Method being billed for such items or you will be charged the book’s actual retail cost. LibraryMantra™ reserves the right to terminate your membership for any or no reason.
Refund Of Security Deposit:
In the event that your membership is cancelled, we will refund your security deposit after ensuring all outstanding charges applicable have been processed. We issue a bank cheque payable in Pune in the name of the member as appears at the time of registration.
All books sent to a member are verified to be in a good condition prior to dispatch and condition of each book is recorded in our system. Upon receipt of the books, you must ensure that the books are in good condition. Any damage, if found, must be reported to our representative and conveyed to LibraryMantra™ customer service via email or phone. At the time of pick-up, our representative will check for any damage to the books and will intimate you accordingly. Upon receipt of the books, we will verify the condition of the book against the condition recorded in our system before dispatch. If a book is returned to LibraryMantra™ damaged as a result of member misuse, LibraryMantra™ will charge you the market value of each damaged book against the security deposit. If LibraryMantra™ determines that a book was damaged during transit, LibraryMantra™ will not charge member for the damaged book.
Your LibraryMantra™ membership will continue in effect unless you cancel your membership or we terminate it. You must cancel your membership before it renews each month in order to avoid billing of the next month’s membership fees to your Payment Method. We will bill the membership fee plus any applicable tax to the Payment Method you provide to us during registration (or to a different Payment Method if you change your account information).
Special offers, if any, are available only for first-time LibraryMantra™ members, unless otherwise expressly stated in the offer. Once redeemed, all promotional offers are final and are not eligible for refund or return.
LibraryMantra has put in effort to create a catalog of books and categorized them for ease of access. The cover images & book description are procured from third party/publishers and LibraryMantra takes no guarantee of the accuracy of such content. You might receive a book that has a cover different from what was shown online. This is because different publishers of the same book use different cover images. Best efforts have been taken to deliver the goods described on the site; LibraryMantra takes no guarantee that the book will bear the exact cover produced on the site. The books are subject to availability and the presence of multiple copies of the same book from multiple publishers may result in a disparity between the cover shown on the site, and the book delivered. Despite this, the content of the book would be the same. The cover might be different but the book will be the same.
